CreatorCut 1.2 · For Mac

Record once.
Publish everywhere.

  • 01 One take in. A 9:16 reel and a 16:9 video out. Both rendered locally, both ready to publish.
  • 02 A built-in teleprompter that paces itself to your voice. Pop it out to a second display when you want eye contact with the lens.
  • 03 Face-tracked portrait crop keeps the 9:16 centered on you. A live audio meter tells you the mic is hot before the record light comes on.

CreatorCut — Untitled Take
REC 00:00.00
PROMPTER

Hey — quick thing today. We shipped a little tool that I've been
using for myself for months, and I think you'll like it.

The pitch is simple. You record one take, looking at the camera,

and you walk away with both a vertical reel and the wide
landscape cut. No re-shoots, no second editor, no upload.

Everything happens on your Mac. The transcription that

paces this teleprompter — local. The face tracking that
keeps the 9:16 centered on me — local.

It's the calmest part of my recording setup now,

and I'd love for you to try it.

§ 01 — The trick

One source.
Two finished cuts.

CreatorCut captures a wide 16:9 frame, then renders a portrait crop that follows your face in real time. You don't choose between vertical and horizontal — you ship both, from the same take, in the time it takes to make a coffee.

9:16 CROP FRAME
A wide 16:9 capture, headroom on every side. 3840×2160
9:16 1080×1920
Face-tracked portrait. Stays on you when you move.
16:9 3840×2160
Full landscape, untouched. The wide cut for YouTube.
A. Renders happen in parallel after you stop recording — typically faster than realtime on Apple silicon.
B. Crop center is smoothed; small head movements don't jitter the frame.
C. Outputs land side-by-side in a single folder, ready to drop into your scheduler.
§ 02 — Teleprompter

Reads you.
Not the other way around.

Speech recognition runs on-device and the script scrolls to match your cadence. Slow down to think, the prompter waits. Pop it out to a second monitor when you want to look down the lens, not down at your keyboard.

If you've been bouncing between Photo Booth, OBS, and a separate teleprompter app, take a breath.

CreatorCut collapses that whole stack into one window.

You write your script on the left, you press record, and you talk like a person — not like someone reading sentences off a screen.

When you slow down to think, the prompter slows with you.

When you find your rhythm, it finds it too. The reading line stays right where your eyes already are.

And when you're done, both cuts are waiting in your Movies folder.

00:42 / 02:18 SCRIPT.MD · 312 WORDS · 2 PARAGRAPHS AHEAD
A.

Voice-paced scrolling

On-device speech recognition matches the script to your cadence. Pause to think and the line waits for you. No knobs, no calibration.

B.

Pop out to a second display

Send the prompter to an external monitor positioned right under the lens. Get eye contact back. Your camera doesn't care that you're reading.

C.

Adjustable column width

Narrow the reading column to keep your eyes still. Wide for prose, tight for tight cuts. The geometry of the page changes with you.

§ 03 — On-device privacy

Your voice
never leaves
your Mac.

Speech recognition runs locally where supported. Video is encoded on your machine. No accounts. No cloud. No analytics. Nothing to opt out of, because there's nothing collecting.

SPEECH ON-DEVICE
Apple Speech framework, local model.
FACE TRACKING ON-DEVICE
Vision framework, Neural Engine.
RENDER ON-DEVICE
VideoToolbox, hardware H.265.
NETWORK NONE
App is sandboxed. No outgoing connections.
§ 04 — Scope

What it
doesn't do.

A short list, on purpose. CreatorCut does one workflow, well. The things it doesn't do, it doesn't do.

  • 01 No filters or beauty effects.
  • 02 No timeline editor.
  • 03 No SDKs, plugins, extensions.
  • 04 No cloud sync, no accounts.
  • 05 No telemetry. None.
  • 06 No AI captions, summaries, or rewriting.

Press record.
Get back to your day.
